Amsterdam to host tree lighting festival with community activities

Amsterdam will hold its annual Tree Lighting Festival on Friday, November 28. The event is sponsored by the Montgomery County Dwyer Program and will take place at the Mohawk Valley Gateway Overlook.

The festival features caroling, music, Christmas crafts, and free horse-drawn carriage rides provided by Got Skills Equipment Repair LLC. Santa Claus will also be present for attendees.

Community members are encouraged to bring their own ornament to hang on the 25-foot tree. Activities begin at 4 p.m.
