Assemblyman Robert Smullen, a member of the New York State Assembly, addressed recent events and political issues in a series of posts on his social media account.

On March 12, 2026, Smullen commented on an incident at a Michigan synagogue. He stated, “I am deeply disturbed by the attempted attack on a synagogue in Michigan today. I am grateful that security personnel acted quickly and engaged the suspect, protecting the children and others gathered at the synagogue. Antisemitism and violence have no place in our society.”

The following day, March 13, Smullen expressed appreciation for grassroots political engagement. He wrote, “Thank you to the Adirondack Republican Women’s Club for the invitation to join you as a guest speaker at your recent event. I appreciated the opportunity to spend time with such a dedicated group of grassroots leaders who work every day to strengthen our party and our https://t.co/wGC8lUYMfF”

Later on March 13, Smullen addressed concerns about campaign practices involving another candidate. He posted, “Anthony @constantino’s campaign was caught on video sending a paid petitioner to lie to Republican voters about what they were signing and who the petition was for. The man he hired has previously been charged with petition fraud. That tells you everything you need to know about https://t.co/9JAONoTP4A”

Smullen is known for his public service efforts advocating for veterans and drafting measures aimed at protecting vulnerable residents, according to his official biography. He retired as a colonel after 24 years in the Marine Corps with three deployments to Afghanistan and has maintained lifelong ties to upstate New York with his family. Elected to the Assembly in 2018, Smullen holds degrees from The Citadel, Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, and the Eisenhower School.
