Delaware County has announced a public hearing scheduled for July 23, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. The event will take place at 111 Main Street, Delhi, NY. The purpose of the hearing is to gather public comments on the county’s community development needs and discuss the potential submission of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application for the 2025-26 program year.
The CDBG program is managed by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR). It aims to provide approximately $40 million to eligible local governments this year, primarily benefiting low to moderate-income individuals. Delaware County plans to apply for $300,000 to establish a microenterprise program.
This hearing offers an opportunity for citizen participation in shaping the proposed grant application or considering alternative proposals. Public comments on both the CDBG program and the proposed project will be welcomed during this session.
The venue is accessible to persons with disabilities. Those requiring special accommodations should contact Tabitha Byam via email at tabitha.byam@co.delaware.ny.us at least one week before the hearing date to make necessary arrangements. Written comments can also be submitted to Tabitha Byam until July 25, 2025.
The announcement was dated July 9, 2025, and signed by Penny A. Bishop, Clerk of the Board of Supervisors for Delaware County.
