A public hearing will be held by the Delaware County Board of Supervisors regarding a proposed local law that would allow licensed hunters aged 12 and 13 to hunt deer with a firearm or crossbow during hunting season, provided they are supervised by an adult licensed hunter. The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 1:05 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ Room at the Senator Charles D. Cook County Office Building, located at 111 Main Street in Delhi, New York.
The proposed legislation, Local Law Intro. No. 2 of 2025, aims to permit younger hunters to participate in hunting activities under safe conditions and in accordance with Environment Conservation Law § 11-0935.
“All persons interested in speaking concerning the proposed local law will be heard at the aforementioned time and place.
