Delaware County sets public hearing for review of Agricultural District No. 12

The Delaware County Board of Supervisors has announced a public hearing regarding the eight-year review of Agricultural District No. 12. The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. and will take place in the Board of Supervisors Room at the Senator Charles D. Cook County Office Building, located at 111 Main Street, Delhi, New York.

The review concerns Agricultural District No. 12, which includes areas in the Towns of Deposit, Masonville, Sidney, Tompkins, and Walton. During this session, officials will consider requests and recommendations from the County Agricultural Farmland Protection Board on proposed modifications to the district.

A map and list of properties affected by these changes are available for public inspection at the office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at 111 Main Street in Delhi. Members of the public who wish to comment on any proposed inclusions to Agricultural District No. 12 may do so during the hearing.

Penny A. Bishop, Clerk of the Board for Delaware County Board of Supervisors stated: “All persons desiring to comment on any Agricultural District inclusions shall be heard at the aforementioned time and place.” She also noted that disabled citizens needing assistance with attending or providing comments should contact her office at (607) 832-5110.

The announcement follows standard procedures under state law requiring periodic reviews and opportunities for public input on agricultural districts within New York counties.
