New York State Senator Peter Oberacker, a Republican and Conservative party member, recently addressed several legislative and policy issues on his social media account.

On March 9, 2026, Oberacker posted about new legislation aimed at protecting victims of exploitation. He stated, “Today we’re taking another step to protect victims of exploitation. S.205 strengthens New York’s law against the unlawful dissemination of intimate images by adding threats to publish or share these images. No one should live in fear of digital blackmail. Proud to support”.

The following day, Oberacker commented on the state budget proposal released by Senate Democrats. On March 10, 2026, he wrote, “Senate Democrats released their One-House Budget today and it continues a troubling trend in Albany — more spending and higher taxes. At a time when families, small businesses, and farmers are already struggling with the high cost of living, the *last thing* overstretched New”.

Later that same day, Oberacker criticized Josh Riley for actions affecting federal funding for airport security workers. He posted on March 10, 2026: “Josh Riley is blocking funding to the Department of Homeland Security. The result? Airport security workers are being forced to work without pay and security lines are stretching for hours, inconveniencing air travelers across New York and the rest of the country. Enough of the”.

Oberacker has been recognized for his contributions both inside and outside government service. He was inducted into the SUNY Delhi Athletic Hall of Fame and volunteers with organizations such as the C.H. Graham Hose Company according to his official website. His legislative focus includes rural issues like emergency services, agriculture, broadband access and infrastructure improvements while serving on committees such as Agriculture, Finance, Higher Education and Labor.
