New York State Senator Peter Oberacker, a Republican and Conservative party member, addressed several community and legislative issues in a series of posts on March 14 and 15, 2026.

On March 14, Oberacker highlighted the impact of winter utility costs on Upstate residents. He wrote, “It’s been a brutal winter, and we’ve been reminded every time we open our utility bills. It’s time to give Upstate some real relief. That’s why I’m calling for an immediate tax holiday on household energy and for the passage of my Utility Ratepayer Bill of Rights. ️” (March 14, 2026).

Later that day, Oberacker participated in a local event supporting childhood cancer research. He posted, “Honored to join @StBaldricks Norwich at their annual awareness event Huge shoutout to Ace, our 2026 Honored Kid! Your courage reminds us why this fight matters. And hats off to the Norwich Police officers who shaved their heads to support childhood cancer research!” (March 14, 2026).

On March 15, Oberacker discussed the historical origins of county names in his district. He stated, “From Iroquois words to Revolutionary leaders, the county names of #SD51 reflect the rich history of our region! Delaware: Named after the Delaware River, which honors Thomas West, 3rd Baron De La Warr, an English colonial governor. Schoharie: From a Mohawk word meaning” (March 15, 2026).

Oberacker is recognized for his service as a volunteer with the C.H. Graham Hose Company and has been inducted into the SUNY Delhi Athletic Hall of Fame (official website). His legislative priorities include rural emergency services, agriculture policy, broadband access and infrastructure improvements (official website).
