New York State Senator Peter Oberacker, a Republican and Conservative party member who serves on several state senate committees, recently addressed utility costs, energy policy, and community inclusion in a series of social media posts.

On March 13, 2026, Oberacker criticized Democratic lawmakers for their approach to energy costs. He wrote, “Senate Democrats are doubling down on increasing our already sky-high utility costs! A leaked memo recently revealed the radical Cuomo-Hochul climate law is responsible for dramatically raising energy costs statewide since 2019. Later that day, Oberacker promoted his legislative efforts and commented on political opponents. In a tweet posted at 19:25 UTC, he stated, “WATCH: Recently I joined Fox News to discuss my pro-affordability Ratepayer Bill of Rights and the utter hypocrisy from Phony Josh Riley given his financial ties to NYSEG. https://t.co/TfMwE0TsBW”.

On March 14, 2026, Oberacker highlighted Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. He wrote, “March is #DevelopmentalDisabilitiesAwarenessMonth, a time dedicated to recognizing the importance of inclusion and celebrating the contributions that people with developmental disabilities make in every part of community life. Oberacker has been recognized for his contributions outside the legislature as well. He was inducted into the SUNY Delhi Athletic Hall of Fame and volunteers with the C.H. Graham Hose Company according to his official website. His legislative priorities include rural issues such as emergency services, agriculture, broadband access and infrastructure improvements. As a senator, he holds positions on several committees including Agriculture, Finance, Higher Education and Labor.
