New York State Senator Peter Oberacker, a Republican and Conservative party member, recently shared updates on community events, tax policy, and senior safety through a series of posts on his social media account.
On April 15, 2026, Oberacker commented on a local gathering by stating, “Great to see so many friends at the Taste of Sullivan event last night! Are there any restaurants you think should be featured next year? Let me know your favorite #SullivanCounty spot in the comments! https://t.co/fe6WEiXMy2”.
Later that day, he addressed tax policy and criticized political opponent Josh Riley. Oberacker wrote, ” This #TaxDay, remember: When Republicans delivered tax relief for Upstate families struggling to make ends meet, Phony @JoshRileyUE tried to take more of your hard-earned cash. Riley voted for the largest tax INCREASE since WWII. Instead of standing with us, Riley stands with”.
On April 16, 2026, Oberacker turned attention to scams targeting older adults. He posted, “Scams targeting older adults generate billions of dollars each year for criminals. Seniors are often targeted because scammers wrongly assume they are more trusting or easier to persuade. Staying informed is one of the best protections we have. Visit the Better Business Bureau”.
Oberacker has achieved recognition through induction into the SUNY Delhi Athletic Hall of Fame and contributes to community welfare through volunteer efforts with the C.H. Graham Hose Company, according to his official website. As a state senator representing rural interests such as emergency services, agriculture, broadband access and infrastructure improvements, he also serves on several committees including Agriculture, Finance, Higher Education and Labor.
