New York State Senator Peter Oberacker, a member of the Republican and Conservative parties, recently shared updates on social media regarding community events, funding for local development, and legislative efforts to address utility costs.
On April 8, 2026, Oberacker thanked the Chenango County GOP for hosting him at its annual dinner. He posted, “Thank you to @CCGOP1 for the warm invitation to address guests at its well-attended 63rd Lincoln Award Dinner! It was great to be joined by so many of our outstanding candidates and local patriots. This November, let’s elect leaders with a real plan to lower utility costs,” referencing upcoming elections and concerns about energy expenses.
Later that day, Oberacker announced significant state investment in Otsego County. He wrote on April 8, “I’m excited to announce that the Village of Morris, #OtsegoCounty has been awarded $4.5 million through the NY Forward program! This investment will help strengthen our downtown, support local arts and infrastructure, and continue building Morris into a vibrant, welcoming” highlighting efforts aimed at revitalizing small communities.
On April 9, Oberacker addressed ongoing issues with rising utility bills in New York. He stated: “New Yorkers deserve immediate relief from sky-high utility bills. That’s why I’m calling for the passage of my Utility Ratepayer Bill of Rights and an immediate utility-tax holiday.
