New York State Senator Peter Oberacker recently shared updates on his community engagement and local advocacy through a series of social media posts. The posts, dated April 18 and 19, highlight Oberacker’s recognition of student bravery, dialogue with small businesses, and participation in a charity event.
On April 18, Oberacker acknowledged the actions of two students from Monticello High School: “I had the honor of presenting two local heroes, Gavin Shupe and Emma Stanton, with Senate citations in recognition of their bravery, compassion, and quick thinking. When their bus driver experienced a medical emergency, these two Monticello High School students acted fast to”.
Later that day, he discussed challenges facing local businesses during a visit to Lightning Express: “Recently I visited Lightning Express to discuss trucking and small business concerns locally and across New York State. Both vehicle and medical insurance rates are skyrocketing, putting real pressure on bottom lines. We also had a special guest: Ben, the office pug, who joined”.
On April 19, Oberacker described his involvement in a fundraising effort for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: “I was proud to take part in the Country Cares for St. Jude’s Celebrity Bartending Event at the Callicoon Brewery recently, supporting the important and lifesaving work of @StJude Children’s Research Hospital. Oberacker is recognized for his service both as an elected official aligned with the Republican and Conservative parties and as an active volunteer with organizations such as the C.H.
