Peter Oberacker, a member of the New York State Senate, recently posted a series of messages on his social media account reflecting on historical events, community engagement, and constituent services.
On December 7, 2025, Oberacker marked the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor with a message commemorating those affected by the event. He wrote, “On this day 84 years ago the United States Naval base at Pearl Harbor was hit with a surprise attack, killing 2,403 Americans and wounding an additional 1,178. The following day, Oberacker shared details about his visit to Harpursville Central School District. In his post he stated, “Thank you to Harpursville Central School District for letting me tour your Hive Market food pantry and check out Mrs., Harrington’s food class. The Hive Market food pantry is part of local efforts to address student needs through hands-on education and community resources.
On December 9, Oberacker encouraged constituents to visit his district office for assistance in recovering unclaimed funds. He posted: “Do you have money waiting for you? Stop by my district office to meet with the Office of the State Comptroller. They’ll check to see if you have unclaimed funds, which can come from things like old bank accounts, uncashed checks, security deposits, or refunds that never” (December 9, 2025). Unclaimed funds are assets held by institutions when rightful owners cannot be located; state programs periodically help residents reclaim such property.
Peter Oberacker represents constituents in New York’s State Senate and frequently communicates public service information as well as community updates via social media channels.
