Assemblyman Robert Smullen, a candidate for New York’s 21st Congressional District and a current member of the State Assembly, has recently used social media to highlight his campaign priorities and legislative positions.

On December 6, 2025, Smullen posted about participating in a radio program: “Enjoyed joining HOTLINE with Jeffrey Graham to discuss local issues important to the North Country and Upstate New York and the conservative values I’ll fight for in Washington. I’m the only Trump appointed conservative in this race, and I’ll stand with the president for https://t.co/mu16kfKUK6”.

Two days later, on December 8, 2025, he addressed recent legislative efforts in Albany regarding energy policy: “Democrats in Albany pushed legislation that would ban natural gas in new buildings and homes across New York. They want to ban gas stoves in your home and drive energy bills even higher. As a member of the State Assembly, I voted against this because families shouldn’t be”.

On December 9, 2025, Smullen commented on his appearance on another radio show: “I was pleased to address listeners of Live @ 5 with Glenn Curry yesterday, where he acknowledged our campaign’s momentum as the leading Republican in this race. The people of New York’s 21st Congressional District deserve a battle tested, service driven conservative in https://t.co/2QYzitxigm”.

Smullen is seeking election as a Republican candidate for Congress representing New York’s 21st District. He has positioned himself as both an advocate for conservative policies at the state level and an ally of former President Donald Trump through his self-identification as “the only Trump appointed conservative” in his race.
