Assemblyman Robert Smullen, a state legislator representing parts of Upstate New York and a retired Marine Corps Colonel, has recently shared updates on his campaign activities and national policy views through social media posts.

On December 17, 2025, Smullen appeared on local radio to discuss the progress of his campaign. He stated, “It was good to be on Talk of the Town on 100.7 FM discussing the early momentum behind our campaign. Raising more than $500,000 and earning endorsements from over 50 local elected officials shows this effort is off to a strong start across Upstate New York. We’re building https://t.co/ReLeV9snXs”.

In another post dated December 18, 2025, Smullen commented on recent federal policies under former President Donald Trump’s administration: “In less than a year, @realDonaldTrump has taken men out of women’s sports, secured our borders, lowered gas prices, cut taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security, slowed the flow of illegal drugs, and restored peace through strength on the world stage. For families in Upstate”.

Later that same day, Smullen expressed support for a new proposal aimed at veterans: “President Trump is taking real action to honor those who served. I strongly support his proposal for a $1,776 Warrior Dividend for our veterans. As a Marine Corps Colonel, I served in combat in Afghanistan with troops from the 10th Mountain Division, and I know strength starts”.

Smullen’s comments come as he continues to advance his political campaign in Upstate New York after raising significant funds and securing numerous endorsements from local officials. His military background includes service in Afghanistan alongside members of the Army’s 10th Mountain Division.
