Assemblyman Robert Smullen, a Republican representing New York’s 118th Assembly District, has recently used his social media platform to highlight campaign endorsements and reaffirm his commitment to conservative values. In a series of posts between December 10 and December 12, 2025, Smullen referenced support from local officials and discussed his background in public service.
On December 10, Smullen wrote: “Over 50 local elected officials have endorsed our campaign — these are conservative leaders who are committed, principled, and know the importance of this election. Their support shows we’re building momentum and staying true to the values that matter most to the people of New”.
The following day, he reiterated his dedication to public service with a reference to his military background: “Duty. Service. Results. This is a motto that has driven me ever since I first enlisted to serve our country in the Marines. I’m battle-tested and ready to fight for the people of NY-21 in Washington DC. I will always stand firm for our upstate values and work for solutions that”.
On December 12, Smullen attended an event in Schoharie alongside Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh, Senator Peter Oberacker, and Senator George Borrello as Assemblyman Chris Tague announced his candidacy for New York’s 51st Senate District. He posted: “Great to be in Schoharie with Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh, Senator Peter Oberacker, and Senator George Borrello as Assemblyman @ChrisTague102 announced his run for New York’s 51st Senate District. Chris has been a strong voice in the State Assembly, and no one fights harder”.
Smullen’s recent statements come as he seeks broader support within upstate New York ahead of upcoming elections. As an assemblyman representing rural communities north of Albany since January 2019, he has focused on issues such as veterans’ affairs and rural economic development.
