Assemblyman Robert Smullen, a representative from New York’s 21st district, posted a series of messages on his Twitter account in early January 2026 addressing themes of personal responsibility, law enforcement appreciation, and international justice.
On January 8, Smullen emphasized traditional values in a post stating, “There’s nothing “frigid” about independence, hard work, and personal responsibility. Those values built the Adirondacks, NY-21, and America. Socialism and collectivism have failed everywhere they’ve been tried. In Congress, I’ll stand against the radical left’s policies and https://t.co/4spAUvK094”.
The following day, January 9, Smullen commented on the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro with the message: “The capture of Nicolás Maduro sends a clear message to criminals around the world – you cannot hide behind fortified palace walls. His drug trafficking has killed thousands of Americans, and now he and his wife will finally face justice in the United States. President Trump’s”.
On January 10, National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, Smullen expressed gratitude toward police officers: “On this National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we say thank you to the men and women in blue who protect and serve our communities across #NY21. https://t.co/ldYuvHl7T4”.
Smullen is known for representing New York’s North Country region in the State Assembly. His recent posts reflect ongoing national debates regarding socialism versus capitalism as well as support for law enforcement agencies across the United States.
