On Friday, May 20th, our Undersheriff Timothy Buckley called himself out of service to retire from a career spanning 26 years in Delaware County Law Enforcement. Undersheriff since appointed by Sheriff DuMond in 2018, Tim became a full-time deputy for Delaware County in 2000, and rose through the ranks as Investigator, and then as Lieutenant.

50+ people gathered at the Public Safety Building in Delhi for a lunch followed by presentations by Sheriff Craig DuMond, Senator Fred Akshar, and Tim’s youngest brother Chad Buckley, 1st Sergeant of Troop C Headquarters in Sidney.

Retired Undersheriff Buckley will be missed by all staff at the Sheriff’s Office and remembered for his dedication to public safety and for his impeccable character and integrity.

Sergeant Kim Smith, a 25 year member of the Sheriff’s Office has been appointed the new Undersheriff of Delaware County and will be sworn in at the Public Safety Building in Delhi on Tuesday, May 24th.
