Montgomery County recorded 1.2% decrease in graduation rates in 2021-22 school year

Graduation rates in Montgomery County schools fell 1.2% from the previous school year, according to the New York State Education Department.

There were 2,172 students who graduated in the 2021-22 school year, compared to 2,209 in the previous year.

Montgomery County had the state's 52nd highest graduation rate with 86.6% graduating, while Nassau County boasted the highest rate, with 95.3% of students graduating in the 2021-22 school year.

In 2022, New York had roughly one teacher for every 12 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.
