Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks) attended a joint meeting with consultants from the New York State Education Department (NYSED) as well as the Fort Plain and Canajoharie Boards of Education yesterday at the Harry Hoag Elementary School in Fort Plain. Their mission is to begin the first steps of a study to assess the practicality of consolidating the Fort Plain and Canajoharie school systems.
“Attending this meeting and joining in on such an important study for two of our local schools is critical,” said Smullen. “I provided bullet aid through the Hamilton Fulton Montgomery BOCES program to help fund this study—I look forward to seeing the results and the community decision on whether to consolidate.”
