State Assemblyman Mark Walczyk has voiced his dissatisfaction with Governor Kathy Hochul's recent State of the State address, stating that it failed to connect with residents in upstate New York. According to Walczyk, the address did not adequately address the concerns and needs of those living in rural areas.

Walczyk emphasized that "Upstate New Yorkers are tired of hearing the same empty promises. They are tired of seeing flawed policy decisions made behind their backs. And they are tired of feeling the sting of out-of-touch ‘solutions’ to existing issues in the rural areas of the state enforced without any input from their communities."

The assemblyman’s comments reflect a broader sentiment among some upstate residents who feel overlooked by state policies and initiatives that do not take into account their unique challenges and perspectives.
