Assemblyman Robert Smullen, representing the Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks, participated in the 2025 New York Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus Breakfast on February 5, 2025. The caucus is a bipartisan and bicameral group dedicated to supporting hunting, angling, recreational shooting, and trapping across New York state.
Smullen, who is known for his passion for hunting and outdoor activities, expressed enthusiasm about engaging with fellow legislators to discuss and promote these traditional sports. He stated, “It was my pleasure to speak at today’s breakfast alongside so many members of the community, local leaders and state representatives to discuss the importance of outdoorsmanship in our great state.”
He emphasized that activities like hunting and angling are not only ways to enjoy freedom but also contribute to environmental conservation. Smullen added, “Hunting, angling, trapping and recreational shooting are great ways to celebrate our freedom and prosperity in this beautiful country while also contributing to environmental conservation and stewardship. I’d like to thank everyone who attended the breakfast today for promoting these incredible New York state traditions.”
The event served as an opportunity for legislators both new and seasoned within the caucus to connect over shared interests in preserving New York's sporting heritage.
