Pursuant to Section 1650, Article 4 of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, Delaware County has announced temporary road closures for certain county roads. The closures apply to vehicles with a gross weight exceeding four tons on any one axle. These restrictions will be in effect once notices are posted on the highways and will remain until conditions allow reopening.
The specified tonnage includes the total weight of the vehicle and its load. Axles less than 46 inches apart from center to center are considered as one axle. For further details regarding these road closures or lifting of restrictions, individuals can contact James D. Thomas, County Superintendent of Highways, at 2 Bridge Street, Delhi, New York 13753.
