16 schools across Fulton County welcomed 7,334 students in 2021-22 school year

Fulton County enrolled 7,334 students in the 2021-22 school year, according to the New York State Education Department.

It had the 20th lowest enrollment numbers in the state.

The number of students in the halls of Fulton County schools fell by 0.5% compared to the year before.

In the 2021-22 school year, 51.1% of students were boys, and 48.9% were girls.

Most of the students were white, representing 88.3% of the Fulton County student body.

Within Fulton County, Broadalbin-Perth Elementary School had the highest enrollment numbers in the school year, welcoming 908 students.

In 2022, New York had roughly one teacher for every 12 students, which is lower than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students. A lower student-to-teacher ratio has been found to improve students' school performance.
