Joseph M. Cetta: A Military Career of Dedication and Service

Joseph M. Cetta's military career has been one of unwavering dedication and service, spanning nearly four decades with both the United States Marine Corps and the New York Army National Guard. Born in Walton, New York, Cetta's desire to serve his country was evident from a young age, leading him to enlist with the U.S. Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program after high school.

During his time in the Marines, Cetta spent four years on active duty with VFMA-312, with deployments to various locations in the Western Pacific. After an honorable discharge, he joined the New York Army National Guard, where he held numerous leadership positions over 32 years. His service took him to missions within New York State and overseas to countries like Panama, Honduras, and Guatemala.

Cetta's commitment to serving his country did not waver as he was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he served as a Liaison Officer with the 42nd Infantry Division during each tour. Throughout his distinguished military career, Cetta has been recognized with a multitude of awards and honors, including the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, among others.

Beyond his military service, Cetta remains actively involved in his community, currently serving as the Town Supervisor of Walton and as a firefighter with the Walton Fire Department. His dedication to his country, fellow service members, and community is evident in his continued contributions both in and out of uniform.

In reflecting on Joseph M. Cetta's remarkable career, it is clear that his commitment to service and sacrifice is deserving of eternal respect and admiration.
